Bollywood News : Akki beats Salman's Jai ho???

'Holiday' Box Office Collection: Akshay Starrer Set to Beat Salman's 'Jai Ho' Lifetime Total

"Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" is now set to beat the lifetime total of Salman Khan's "Jai Ho." Within two weeks of its release, the action thriller starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha became the second highest grosser film of 2014.
And now the film is set to become the highest grosser film of 2014, by beating "Jai Ho" record at the domestic box office. "Holiday" had dominated the market in first two week. The collection of the film slowed down in the third week only after the release of Saif Ali Khan starrer "Humshakals."
But the film managed to pull up its collection during the third weekend. The third Friday business of the film was in the range of ₹1 crore due to "Humshakals."
However, on third Saturday, Sunday and Monday the film witnessed growth. In fact, the income on third Monday collection was better than Friday.
The action thriller has taken its overall domestic total to ₹107 crore, after 17 days.
"#Holiday [Week 3] Fri ₹1.04 cr, Sat ₹1.91 cr, Sun ₹3.11 cr, Mon ₹1.14 cr. Grand total: ₹107 cr nett. India biz. HIT... Mon was better than Fri," Adarsh tweeted.
With "Humshakals" receiving negative comments from critics and audience, "Holiday" can expect boost in its collection. People are opting for Kumar's "Holiday" instead of the newly released film. Positive word of mouth is still helping "Holiday" at the domestic box office.
"#Humshakals forces us to ignore it watch #Holiday again," a Twitter user said.
If "Holiday" maintains a strong hold at the collection centers in its third week, then the third week total of the film would cross ₹110 crore.
The only hurdle the film will face is in its fourth week, when Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor starring "Ek Villain" will release. If "Holiday" manages to pass the fourth week test by earning more than ₹6 crore, then it will beat "Jai Ho"s ₹116 crore lifetime total and become the highest grosser.
"'Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty' has got the best collections so far. It has done remarkably well; in fact, it's the third film, after '2 States' and 'Jai Ho' to cross the ₹100 crore mark this year.
